YOUTH CLUB MEMBERS TAKE PART IN AWARENESS ACTIVITIES

During October, members of the Junior and Senior sessions took part in a number of activities to increase awareness of some national and historical topics.

As it was black history month, our members decided to take a unique approach and created two fabulous pieces of art in commemoration. one of Rosa Parks and one of Martin Luther King.

Youth Club members also took the opportunity to celebrate Mental health Awareness day on the 10th October, taking the time to find out what they knew about mental health.

They took part in arts projects, used visual pictures, talked about celebrities that struggled with mental health and came up with the following quotes to describe what mental health means to them.

“It’s like trying to sail a paddle boat in a storm when you can’t swim but in the end you become a master”

“It’s like being trapped in the dark with no way out. But in the end what was trapped is now light”.
