Young people aged 16 or 17 can take part in NCS through Warrington Youth Club. Don’t miss out!
More than 275,000 young people have already completed NCS. The scheme is your chance to embark on an exhilarating adventure, make your mark and build skills for work and life.
- Develop skills that employers value
- Learn to budget and live for yourself
- Meet incredible people
- Get your voice heard
- .. and did you know? UCAS recommends that students include NCS in their personal statement
Phase 1: Be Epic – Time to challenge yourself!
Living with your team at an outdoor activity centre, you’ll get to know some amazing people and enjoy some quality time away from home.
The best part? You’ll find yourself in a group of 12-15 incredible people you’ve never met before – people who will change your life and whose lives you’ll change.
In your team, you’ll get the chance to take on some adrenaline-fuelled challenges like rock climbing, canoeing, hiking and archery. Even if you’re the biggest scaredy-cat, you’ll be a rock climbin’, zip wirin’, canoe-conquerin’ machine in no time!
Phase 2: Live Life – A chance to discover something new!
You’ll be reunited with your team at a halls of residence. During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to develop important life skills such as confidence and communication.
You’ll also get the chance to meet interesting people and organisations from across the local area, while learning new practical skills such as first aid.
Even better – you might discover something new about yourself. Maybe you’ve got a hidden (or not so hidden) passion for photography, editing, football coaching or even how to set up your own business!
Phase 3: Do Good – Time to make your mark!
This is where your NCS experience all comes together. All the fun and inspiration from the first two phases means you’re ready to step up and deliver your very own social action project. Plan, fundraise, and make a difference!
You and your team have the power to change the world around you. Whether you’re a thinker or a doer, this is your chance to make a difference, have some amazing stories to tell, and be part of something you’ll never forget!
What’s more, any hours your complete can be used towards Volunteering hours for other awards, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and vInspired awards.
Phase 4: Go Party – Celebrate in style!
At the end of your NCS experience, we hold a party to say thank you for doing something inspirational in your community.
Completing the NCS scheme is only the beginning – you’re now part of the NCS family. This means exclusive access to potential volunteering opportunities and apprenticeships, as well as amazing discounts and big events. Once an NCS’er, always an NCS’er.
NCS is amazing value for money.
Thanks to government backing, the whole experience costs just £50.
The scheme is designed to be accessible for everyone, so financial assistance is available if required.
We run NCS programmes at Warrington Youth Club in the Summer and Autumn.
Places are limited, so get in touch today for more information.
