WYC to change services in response to Government & NYA guidance

Following the recent government announcement, and following consultation with the National Youth Agency, we will be altering our provision to react to the NYA’s new guidance. Please see a summary of changes below:
  • The Junction Gym will unfortunately be closing from today until December 2nd – Subject to further Government restrictions. No bookings can be taken for physical sessions however we will be running virtual gym and fitness sessions again during this period. Please speak to Chris Mills for further details.
  • Juniors Youth Club will change to invite only. The young people that need us most can continue to access the session and one of our Youth Workers will be in touch with those who are able to attend. There will be a maximum of 15 people (including staff) per support group. Please contact Lisa Culverhouse for more information.
  • Seniors Youth Club will remain open for booking online. The sessions will change to three hours in length (6-9pm) with a maximum of 15 people (including staff) per support group. Please book online through the usual way or contact Martin Hill for additional information.
  • Targeted Programmes such as Buddy Up, Mentoring, Wellbeing Drop Ins, Development Groups and Film Club will all continue. Please speak to the relevant WYC staff member for further details.

We appreciate that many of these changes may be frustrating, but we are doing all we can to continue offering our services in the safest possible way and in line with Government and NYA guidance. We hope that we can return to our ‘usual’ sessions as soon as it is safe to do so!

In the meantime, please follow us on social media for latest updates and full access to our YZatHome digital programme including the WYC Gameshow, Coffee & Catch Up, Kahoot Quizzes and our Virtual Fitness Workouts.

Thank you as always for all your support!
