Tour de Youth Zones: A Cycle Challenge from Carlisle to Croydon

A trio of intrepid supporters from WYC are taking on the The Tour de Youth Zones!

WYC Onside Tour de Youth ZonesThe cycle challenge is to ride 450 miles over 5 days to raise money for the new Warrington Youth Zone, due to open in the town centre in 2020/1.  Starting from OnSide Youth Zone in Carlisle on 21st October they will cycle to the newest Youth Zone in Legacy in Croydon, via the 11 Youth Zones spread across the UK.

The Warrington squad (pictured below) are Nick Hopkinson (WYC long-standing supporter), Neil Tattersall (Design Manager of Woolston-based Britplas) and Mark Brocklehurst (WYC Chair and Managing Director of Sharples Plc)

They will join 24 other riders representing the other 12 OnSide Youth Zones in the network, and as part of the journey will cycle to the site of the new Warrington Youth Zone to be built just-off Dallam Lane.  The aim is to raise at least £10,000, and interested donors can give their support on our Virgin Money page.

When complete the new Warrington Youth Zone will open every day of the year and we estimate that we will work with at least 7,000 members from across the borough.  There will be at least 20 positive activities every day as well as a state-of-the-art climbing wall, performing arts space, recording studio, skate park and its very own rooftop football pitch.
