Snow-Camp is the UK’s only charity that uses a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding, educational and vocational opportunities to motivate and inspire young people to gain qualifications and to develop key life-skills.
Snow-Camp have places available for the 2019/20 winter season for Onside Youth Zone members across the UK. These include:
- Fast Track – 2-day introduction to skiing and snowboarding held throughout July and August at the Chill Factore. This includes life-skills sessions focussing on overcoming fear, safety and respect, building confidence, resilience and determination. Students gain an accredited Snow Life Award on completion of the course.
- Graduate – 6-days snowsports training during October and November with life-skills sessions focussing on health and well-being and the physiology and anatomy related to snowsports training. Students gain a ASDAN Level 1 in Sports and Fitness upon completion of the course.
- Excel – 10 days advanced snowsports training over March and April with assessment by Snowsport England and 20 hours shadowing their instructors during a 7 day residential trip to the Alps. Life-skills sessions focus on careers and the theory of teaching snowsports including vocational training presentations from snowsports industry representatives. Students receive a Snowsport England Instructor L1 qualification and a First Aid and Safeguarding Certificate.
