Thanks to our friends at Circus Starr, we have been able to offer some of our Buddy Up members the chance to visit the circus.
Circus Starr is a not-for-profit big top experience and will be in Warrington on Tuesday 24th September as part of 148-date tour of the UK. Due to the generous support of Warrington businesses, this community interest community can put on shows for children with disabilities or life-limiting conditions, families on low incomes and those facing challenges such as domestic violence or bereavement.
Those attending will meet Bippo, the ringmaster. Experience classic circus skills with diablo performer Ross Walters. Watch a Russian swing act. See the Havana Troupe launch off springboards and laugh with Andreea the clown.
Circus Star director Michelle Crossley describes it as such: “A visit to Circus Starr can give a child the rare opportunity to experience the inspiring world of circus in an environment where all of their needs are met. The atmosphere in our big top is warm, friendly and extremely relaxed. Children are encouraged to be themselves – shout out, move around, dance or take time out if they need to. We have seen time and time again the positive impact that a visit to our show can have, and it makes us so proud of what we do.”
Nuvvy Sibia, WYC Buddy Up Project Coordinator comments; “the Circus coming to town is always a delight but one that many children haven’t experienced. Thanks to Circus Star we have been able to offer the tickets we have been given to our members. We always receive fabulous feedback from those who have attended previously about how much they have enjoyed the experience and we are sure this year will be no exception”
