Our very own Chris Capstick (Head of Youth Work), and Chris Mills (Sports Coordinator), are limbering up to go the extra mile and raise funds to support young people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a target of £2,400, the duo are going to walk 100 kilometres each over 24 hours; the equivalent of nearly 5 marathons between them!
Since lockdown, the Club has been supporting young people and their families through food parcels, online activities and making welfare calls, but demand is outstripping resource, and so Chris and Chris have decided to take on this incredible challenge to fund hygiene packages, activity packs and educational resources.
Starting at 12pm on Saturday 20th June, and ending at 12pm on Sunday 21st June, the pair will carry out their trek together, socially distanced, on treadmills at our Junction gym, whilst to raise awareness, we will also be publishing 24 hours of social media content including live streams, activities, challenges and much more for young people to engage with.
Part of this will involve our friends from other Youth Zones across the OnSide network who will walk or run an additional 40 kilometres, taking the total to 240 – Come on lads, you can do it!!
